NIST, true global leader in occupational health and safety training, announces the successful completion of one of the turnkey projects in hand. This time we went on to establish our base in Kuwait and made our presence felt throughout the project deliverance. We are immensely proud to be associated with EQUATE, an international joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), Boubyan Petrochemical Company (BPC) and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC). This turnaround maintenance takes place once every eight years for a 30-day shutdown and therefore a distinguished milestone for EQUATE.

With the participation of over 10,000 workforce, NIST has realized yet another international achievement by completing all training needs for aforementioned within a record-time of 2 months, before work could start in this petrochemical plant. We duly realize the importance of this assignment as it also has a significant strategic role in determining the direction of NIST's future critical projects in Gulf. Based on global health and safety standards, all training matters were thoroughly planned with Client, enabling technical experts to conduct comprehensive maintenance of a number of industrial units, which included ethylene, polyethylene, ethylene glycol and utilities, while ensuring absolute abidance by international best practices. We mobilized battery of Trainers viz. Principal Training Consultant, Lead HSE Trainer, Manager Training & Development with niche expertise in the process industry with finest ability to train and work in unison with people of diverse backgrounds across the globe.

Sensing the gravity of project awarded to us, Training Team were accompanied by the Director (Corporate Consultancy & Synergy), the think tank to render advisory role with determination and grit to pursue the goals under trying conditions. Another landmark achievement was the induction of our 350 alumni, handpicked by Client suiting project safety requirements. We at NIST recognize that the most important asset of any company is the people it employs and therefore placing the right candidate means understanding business and culture of EQUATE to gain a complete vision of recruitment needs. We didn't simply fill vacancies, interviews and screening were exercised over a month and only suitable candidates were picked up from various parts of India for this project.

In this fair and transparent process we reached Mumbai, Trivandrum, Chennai, Vizag, Vadodara, Cochin and Kolkata. We were determined in solving our Client's business challenges by providing the best people with the right mix of knowledge, skills, expertise and attitude. As a result, these 350 strong NISTians played a fundamental role in manifesting a unique professional safety culture during the turnaround by optimizing synergy and cohesiveness with EQUATE. Each one of them had a lifetime experience working with multinational workforce and spearheading the health and safety for the teams assigned to them by Client. NIST has once again proved its worthiness in achieving objectives set by Client, accomplishing mission taking holistic approach and leveraging human capital through talent management.
