Introduction to Net Zero
Massive growth of technology in the last 80 years leads to significant development for the humankind whilst it turned deadliest to the environment. The exploration of Oil & Gas, direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions and other forms of pollution created a major shift in the climate. In 2015, all the United Nation member states has adopted a 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development for peace and prosperity for the people and the planet, now and the future. They proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for action by all developed and developing countries in which climate action is one of the goals to be addressed. And they all strongly stood as clear indicators of an emerging need for an awareness study on environmental sustainability & net zero. In line to that, IEMA introduced ‘Introduction to Net Zero’ course which encompasses the basic details about the same.
