A Message From Our Chairman

Every Accident Has a Cost. Every Prevention Has a Value.

The International Labour Organization estimates that 2.93 million workers die every year as a result of work-related factors, while around 395 million workers sustain non-fatal work injuries annually. Of these fatalities, approximately 330,000 are attributed to work-related accidents, while the majority are linked to work-related diseases.

The Scale of the Challenge
2.93 million Workers die every year as a result of work-related factors ILO estimate
395 million Workers sustain non-fatal work injuries annually ILO estimate
4,87,707 Road accidents recorded in India in 2024 Government of India
1,77,175 Road fatalities in India in 2024, with 4,71,441 people injured Government of India

Behind these figures are families facing loss, disability, medical expenses, and financial hardship. For organisations, accidents can also result in workforce disruption, productivity losses, asset damage, operational delays, and business interruption.

Safety statistics are often presented as numbers. But, these are not merely statistics.

Behind every number is a person.
Behind every incident is a consequence.
Behind every preventable incident is an opportunity to do better.
From Reaction to Prevention

At NIST Global, we believe safety is not simply about responding to incidents after they occur. It is about anticipating risks, strengthening controls, developing competence, and creating a culture where prevention becomes a way of working.

The real question is not What do we do after an accident?
But What could we have done before the accident happened?

This shift from reaction to prevention must form the foundation of modern safety management.

Where Safety Matters

Wherever people live, work, travel, and interact with their surroundings

Safety has a role wherever people live, work, travel, and interact with their surroundings. Across construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, power, infrastructure, logistics, chemicals, and other high-risk sectors, effective safety management protects people and prevents harm.

A single incident can result in loss of life, serious injury, asset damage, production loss, environmental impact, and business disruption.

Road Safety

The same responsibility extends to the road

The same responsibility extends to everyday activities and road travel. For organisations dependent on transportation, fleet operations, and mobile workforces, road safety is an important part of the broader safety responsibility. Driver competence, defensive driving, fatigue management, journey planning, vehicle safety, and responsible road behaviour can help prevent life-changing incidents.

  • What helps prevent life-changing incidents

  • Defensive driving
  • Fatigue management
  • Journey planning
  • Vehicle safety
  • Responsible road behaviour

Road safety is not merely a transport issue. It is a human safety issue.

A Continuous Responsibility

But safety does not begin or end with one hazard, one workplace, or one activity. It is a continuous responsibility that depends on awareness, competence, leadership, accountability, and the ability to make safe decisions every day.

  • Competence
  • Leadership
  • Accountability

01

Compliance is the foundation

Over the years, governments and international organisations have established laws, regulations, and standards to safeguard health and safety. From the Factories Act, 1948, to international labour standards developed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and industry-specific requirements, these frameworks provide an important foundation for managing risk.

02

But never the destination

However, compliance should never be the destination. Responsible organisations must go beyond compliance by identifying risks effectively, implementing appropriate controls, developing competent people, and creating an environment where safe decisions become part of everyday work.

Our Approach

At NIST Global, we see Health, Safety and Environment as an interconnected responsibility.

Health

Health protects the well-being and capability of people.

Safety

Safety focuses on preventing injuries, fatalities, incidents, and losses.

Environment

Environment focuses on preventing harm to our surroundings and protecting valuable resources.

Together, they represent a broader responsibility:

  • ProtectPeople
  • ProtectAssets
  • ProtectResources
  • Protectthe Environment
Our Journey

From safety education to integrated HSE services

Where we began

The journey of NIST Global began with providing safety education and training to HSE professionals, individuals, and organisations, addressing their specific learning and competency needs.

  • Safety Education
  • Training

How we have grown

Over the years, our portfolio has evolved to include consulting, auditing, digital solutions, and integrated HSE services, helping organisations strengthen their safety standards, systems, and practices.

  • Consulting
  • Auditing
  • Digital Solutions
  • Integrated HSE Services

Our contribution goes beyond delivering courses or services. It is about creating awareness, strengthening competence, supporting better decision-making, and helping organisations build safer workplaces and communities. Whether through industrial safety, road safety, training, consulting, auditing, or digital learning, our purpose remains the same: to contribute to safety.

Our Vision

Our vision is to contribute towards a safer India — where safety is understood not merely as a regulatory requirement, but as a shared responsibility and an essential part of everyday life.

Our journey is driven by one fundamental belief:

Safety is not a cost of doing business.Safety is a responsibility of doing business.

The true measure of safety is not the number of procedures we have, but the incidents we prevent, the lives we protect, the assets we preserve, the resources we safeguard, and the safer future we help create.

For us, this is more than a vision. It is a responsibility we have chosen to carry forward.
