Job Summary
The Fire Life Safety (FLS) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with fire and life safety regulations across all company-managed malls and office spaces. The role involves coordinating with various centres, tracking FLS observations, ensuring timely closures, and maintaining adherence to national and local safety codes.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Ensure all properties comply with the National Building Code of India (NBC) 2005 & 2016, Indian Standard (IS) codes, and other relevant fire and life safety regulations.
- FLS Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify FLS observations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Tracking and Follow-Ups: Monitor and follow up with all centres to ensure timely resolution and closure of FLS observations.
- Training and Awareness: Organize and conduct fire safety training programs for staff and tenants to enhance safety awareness.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, and closures, and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Coordination with Authorities: Liaise with local fire departments, municipal corporations, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and obtain necessary certifications.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and update fire evacuation plans, conduct mock drills, and ensure all fire safety equipment is functional and maintained.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with centre managers, maintenance teams, and tenants to address FLS concerns effectively.
Key Requirements:
Technical Knowledge:- In-depth understanding of the National Building Code of India (NBC) 2005 & 2016.
- Familiarity with relevant Indian Standard (IS) codes for fire and life safety.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and evacuation protocols.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with centres, tenants, and regulatory authorities.
- Coordination and Follow-Up: Strong organizational skills to track FLS observations and ensure timely closures across multiple locations.
Description:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 - 6 years of experience in fire and life safety management, preferably in malls, office spaces, or similar commercial properties.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Any Engineering Stream. Preferrable is Fire Safety Engineering.
- Certification: Diploma in Fire Safety Management, NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is preferred.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse FLS issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective measures efficiently.
