Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Risk Assessment

The Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Risk Assessment course is designed to equip supervisors and employees with the essential knowledge and skills in the manual handling risk assessment processes and procedures. Additionally, it provides deeper insights to assess and minimize the risks associated with hazardous manual handling tasks in the workplace. Upon successful completion of the course, the candidates will be better positioned and confident to undertake effective manual handling risk assessments.

Course Syllabus

At the end of this training session, the candidate must be able to:

State the importance of manual handling risk assessments
Execute relevant procedures and strategies to minimise the risk of manual handling injuries
Assess the risks by means of type of work, weight of the object, handling time, the degree of effort etc.
Demonstrate the steps of manual handling risk assessment
Recommend suitable risk control measures

Target Audience

This one day programme is suitable for employees, supervisors, or anyone who needs to carry out manual handling risk assessments in the workplace.

Assessment

By means of an online examination, candidates are assessed and awarded British Safety Council certification. The assessments would be of 45-minute duration and will consist of 30 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 20 out of 30.
