Management of Change training

Management of Change (MOC) is the formal, end-to-end process for assessing, approving, executing, and verifying any technical, operational, or organisational change that may affect safety, reliability, people, or compliance. This course takes learners through the full MOC lifecycle—identifying change triggers, scoping impacts, performing risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), defining controls, obtaining cross-functional approvals, and integrating with existing systems such as PTW, SOPs, and isolation/LOTO. Using industry-relevant cases from construction, manufacturing, facilities, and oil & gas, participants practice building complete “change packs” with risk matrices, action registers, and communication plans, and then execute Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and field verifications to ensure controls work in practice.

Management of Change training

By the end, participants can build complete, audit-ready “change packs” that include risk matrices, action registers, communications, and training updates; distinguish permanent versus temporary changes with validity periods and monitoring; manage contractor interfaces and multi-site rollouts with clear roles (originator, reviewer, approver, verifier); and execute Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and field verifications to prove controls work in practice. The programme also addresses common failure modes—workarounds, undocumented tweaks, scope creep—links documentation to ISO 45001/client audits, and sets practical KPIs (cycle time, overdue actions, recurrence) that leadership can track to drive continuous improvement.

Why Should Employers Invest in this Training?

  • Fewer incidents, less downtime by disciplined MOC stops ad-hoc tweaks and workarounds that cause injuries, equipment damage, and production
  • Faster, safer execution approvals, and checklists cut rework so modifications and tie-ins start up on time without compromising safety.
  • Audit-ready & compliant generates ISO 45001–aligned, client-friendly evidence (HIRA/JSA, approvals, PSSR, close-out) mapped to Indian regulatory expectations.
  • Controls that work in the field by PSSR, LOTO, SOP updates, and drawings are verified before energizing reducing start-up surprises.
  • Better contractor & scope control Standard “change packs,” temporary-change expiry, and interface rules reduce scope creep and multi-site variability.
  • Measurable performance KPIs (cycle time, overdue actions, recurrence) give leaders a dashboard to fix bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.

Training Objective

By the end of this course, participants will be equip participants to plan, assess, approve, implement, and verify organisational, operational, and technical changes using a disciplined MOC lifecycle. Learners will identify change triggers, screen scope and impacts, perform HIRA/JSA, define layered controls, and integrate MOC with PTW, SOP updates, drawings, and isolation/LOTO. They will build audit-ready “change packs” (risk matrix, action register, communication plan), execute PSSR and field verification, manage temporary changes with validity/monitoring, control contractor and multi-site interfaces with clear RACI, and track KPIs (cycle time, overdue actions, recurrence) to meet ISO 45001/client expectations while reducing incidents and accelerating safe.

How Will This Training Strengthen Workforce Readiness?

Change is constant and unmanaged change is a top driver of incidents. This course equips your teams to implement change at speed without compromising safety or compliance.

  • Role clarity & accountability Staff practice Originator–Reviewer–Approver–Verifier handoffs, reducing confusion and speeding safe decisions.
  • Risk-based thinking on the shop floor Teams apply HIRA/JSA and ALARP to choose practical engineering/admin/PPE controls they can justify and execute.
  • Operational integration (PTW/LOTO/SOPs) learners tie MOC to permits, isolations, drawings, and SOP updates—cutting start-up and rework.
  • Field readiness via PSSR Walkdowns, proof tests, and verification checklists build confidence that controls work before energizing or start-up.
  • Ensures Compliance & Audit Readiness, prepares staff to meet regulatory and client audit expectations through standardized practices.
  • Performance mindset with KPIs, teams track cycle time, overdue actions, and recurrence, turning dashboards into targeted improvements on the ground.

FAQ's

1. What is the goal of this MOC training?

To deliver a disciplined, end-to-end method to plan, assess, approve, implement, and verify changes without compromising safety, compliance, or productivity using HIRA/JSA, PTW/LOTO integration, and PSSR.

2.Are there any prerequisites?

No formal prerequisites. Basic familiarity with PTW/LOTO and risk assessment helps, but the course covers essentials before moving to applied trainings.

3. Will the training help during ISO or client audits?

Absolutely. The training focuses on directly to ISO 45001 and typical client audit expectations.

4. Is the training available in local languages?

Training available in standard language English and can be delivered in other regional language based on availability.

5. Does the training cover temporary changes and emergencies?

Yes. We distinguish permanent vs. temporary changes, set validity/expiry and monitoring, and outline fast-track governance for emergency changes with retrospective MOC where appropriate.
