NEBOSH 698^th Batch Celebration – An Accolade to NIST

NIST, in entirety, celebrated the extravaganza of NEBOSH 698^th batch celebration in a phenomenal way. Certainly, there was one analogy that illuminated the aura of the event. The no. 698 that depicts the number of IGC batch trained also resonates with our center number. With such a crux, the eon of the business festival went up to three days dated from 18^th – 20^th July’19. The third omega day was merely the celebration of NEBOSH 698^th batch with the esteemed presence of Dr. Elangovan – Deputy Director-General of DGFASLI (Directorate General, Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes), Mr. Stephen Philip Storey – EHS L & T, Mr. Prabhuram – Senior Manager, Infinite Computer Solutions (India) Limited & NIST Alumni, Mr. Stuart Naylor – Director of Relationship Management, NEBOSH & Mr. Damian Hampson – International Business Development Executive, NEBOSH.

The eventful day embarked with a warm welcome note & an awakening prayer by Ms. Priscilla Arulsamy – Director of Operations, NIST. Mr. Antony Selvaraj – Chairman & Managing Director of NIST welcomed and honored Dr. Elangovan. Following that, Mr. Lawrence Andoni Raj– Director - Client & Customer Synergy NIST, graciously recognized Mr. Stephen Philip Story. Thereafter, Prestigious Dignitaries from NEBOSH, Mr. Stuart Naylor & Mr. Damian Hampson were cordially honored by Ms. Priscilla Arulsamy & Mr. Antony Selvaraj and our esteemed alumni Mr. Prabhu Ram was honored by Mr. Lawrence Andoni Raj. To kindle the lamp of Knowledge & wisdom, the prestigious dignitaries were solicited to light the Kuthuvilaku; they embellished the event by lighting the Diya. The inception of the event was all set with the spectacular video of NIST’s incredible journey which was the reminiscence of how NIST transcended from a small room to India's leading Health & Safety Company

Being a pillar of support & motivation, Mr. Antony Selvaraj delivered a thought-provoking speech on "NIST & NEBOSH – 10 Year Memories". Subsequently, he invited Dr. Elangovan to bestow his notable thoughts on "Safety in India – Then, Now and Next". He interpreted that "The mundane days of neglected health & safety are bygone. In the prevailing scenario, there is a paradigm shift in its perception." He explained how PPE should be a convenient wear to the workers and specified by what means Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence is enhancing the current Occupational Health and Safety. Coherently, he cited Dr. Radhakrishnan quotes, "Preventable accidents if not prevented due to our negligence, it is nothing, sort of murder". Thus his edifying speech covered the voyage of Indian safety from 1948 to the current vision zero concept. Followed by Mr. Elangovan’s astute articulation, Mr. Stephen Philip imparted the significance of NEBOSH in the corporate world and the way it catalyzed his career. It was an inspiring & motivating speech to the aspirants who were present over there. Mr. Prabhu Ram, esteemed alumni of NIST, shared on how he revamped his life from a simple individual to an eminent profession with NIST’s assistance. Being an enthusiastic learner, he upskilled his Health and Safety knowledge by pursuing diversified qualifications at NIST. His words spread warmth & motivation among the onlookers of the event.

Then, Mr. Stuart Naylor conferred a newsy presentation on "Journey with NIST"; he explained how the symbiotic relationship boosted both the organizational performances. The dais grabbed the attention of the onlookers as Mr. Stuart Naylor awarded the NIST directors with a lambent silver plate engraved with the signature of Mr. Ian Taylor – Chief Executive of NEBOSH with the logo of both NIST & NEBOSH. He mentioned that NIST is the "Only Indian Company" to get this momentous appreciation from NEBOSH. Alongside, on behalf of NIST, Mr. Damian Hampson felicitated NEBOSH IGC Distinction Candidates & IDIP Passed out candidates with a memento. Mr. Lawrence Andoni Raj concluded the event with a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, alumni, NIST Team & Almighty for making the celebration a Grant Successful Event. What can be a celebration without a candid moment of photographic session & cake cutting ceremony! Indeed, that way it ended with sumptuous lunch and scintillating conversations!
