An integral part of the global conglomerate LafargeHolcim, Ambuja Cement Ltd is one of the leading cement companies in the Indian cement industry. Ambuja's training and development initiatives are directed at enriching both technical and behavioral skills as well as bringing about a change in the Attitude, Knowledge and Skill of the employees in a dynamic environment. Currently, Ambuja has a cement capacity of 29.65 million tons with five integrated cement manufacturing plants and eight cement grinding units across the country. It is the first Indian cement manufacturer to build a captive port with four terminals along the country's western coastline to facilitate timely, cost effective and environmentally cleaner shipments of bulk cement to its customers.
To further build up competence at all levels, IOSH-MS & NEBOSH-IGC for entire EHS team across the country operation was envisaged by Ambuja. NIST could mark its presence due to its business philosophy to deliver, result oriented, impactful, high quality training on time and within budget. This was proved once again with our reachability throughout the subcontinent and we could complete the assignment in stipulated time. We started from Ambuja Knowledge Center at Corporate Office Mumbai and worked with 25 strong delegates led by Sr. VP EHS & Tech Advisor to MD, Mr. Ashwin Raykundalia. We next moved to our second location at Integrated Plant Bhatapara, Raipur where we catered for 24 dynamic Safety Officers including Head Safety from 3 Plants. Our final destination was pride of Ambuja in the valley of Himachal, an Integrated Plant at a challenging location Darlaghat. NIST delivered International General Certificate program to 24 motivated safety professionals spearheaded by EHS India Head ACC-Ambuja, Mr. Soumanta Pandit.
